Monos — Track less. Live more.

Monos is an iPhone app for keeping track of what you spend and how much credit you have left. Add your cards by hand, record a purchase in a few seconds, snap the receipt if you want one, and see where the month actually went. Everything stays on your phone.

What it does

1. Add a card: a name, the last four digits, the credit limit, and the days your statement closes and payment falls due.
2. Record what you spend. Title, amount, category, cash or card. A receipt photo is optional.
3. See this month’s total, today’s total, and how much credit each card has left.
4. Get a reminder before a payment is due, on the day a statement closes, and before an annual fee.

A home screen widget shows today’s spending and which card falls due next, without opening the app.

Common questions

Does Monos connect to my bank? No. There is no bank login, no Open Banking, no statement import, and no card scanning. You type in what you spend. That is the whole design: it is a private record, not a financial service.

Do I enter my full card number? No, and there is nowhere to put one. Monos stores at most the last four digits, which you type yourself as a label so you can tell your cards apart. No expiry date, no CVV, no PIN.

Where is my data? On your iPhone only. There is no account, no cloud, no ads, and no analytics. The app contains no networking code at all. See the privacy policy.

Can I get my data out? Yes. Settings has Backup Data, which writes a JSON file with everything including receipts, and Export All, which writes a CSV of your expenses. You choose where each file goes through the normal iOS share sheet.

What does “shares limit with” mean? Some banks issue a second card that draws on the same credit line as the first. Mark it as sharing, and Monos counts the family’s spending against one limit instead of two.

Can I hide the amounts? Yes. Settings has Hide balances, which replaces figures with asterisks on screen and in the widget. The widget also hides amounts on the Lock Screen while the phone is locked.
